LUCUMA WARMING BACK MASSAGE
ONE OF 4 COMPONENTS IN THE AYPA MYSTIC INKA BODY RITUAL
Lucuma is the fruit of the Lucumo tree that grows in the dry valley's of the Peruvian coast as well as 1000 meters high in the Peruvian mountains. Attempts to grow the fruit in other locations largely results in failure. One Lucomo tree can produce up to 500 fruits per year! Indigenous people of Peru associate the Lucuma fruit symbolically with women and fertility.
Lucuma is the key ingredient in this product and represents the FIRE ELEMENT in the body ritual because of its warming effects during the back massage (Purple corn scrub: WATER ELEMENT, Sacha Inchi Oil: AIR ELEMENT, Quinoa Cream EARTH ELEMENT). The warming effect comes from an ingredient in the formulation called vanillyl that stimulates receptors in the skin offering a warming sensation during the back massage and up to 10 - 15 minutes after the back massage is finished.
The lucuma product is thick, creamy and offers me friction or more resistance during the glides of the massage strokes, which results in a release of the superficial fascia and tension in the back musculature. I preform 8 - 10 minutes of back massage with this product before removing it with steamed towels and follow its removal with the application of the sacha inchi oil and massage. It has a light sweet aroma and has been a wonderful addition to my favorite products to use with my clients.
